Recovery from Fundamentalismmoderated - created 05/20/04 |
|
Did you see the world in terms of strict black and white? Did all your values come from "divinely revealed" Scriptures or the words of the spiritual leaders of your group?
Did you ignore the dictates of your own conscience and common sense to accede to "group think"?
Ex-fundamentalists from any background are welcome: Christians (including narrow Catholic and LDS, as well as Evangelicals), Jews (Lubavitcher, etc.), Muslims, devotees of ultra-strict Eastern religions or New Age cults or groups, and anyone else who feels that he or she was duped by a too-simplistic view of spiritual reality.
Some of us still have faith, although of a different nature than that of our Fundie days. Some of us now believe in nothing outside the realm of the five senses.
Let's discuss our journeys.
**********************************************************
NOTE: Current Fundamentalists, interested in showing us the
error of our ways, are not welcome in this Tribe. We are here
to share our own experiences in leaving, and recovering from,
Fundamentalist religious groups and experiences. This Tribe
does not exist to provide Fundamentalists with debating or
soul-winning practice. If you think we need your prayers, then
by all means, pray for us in our Error, as we may pray for you
in yours.
